Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs at Barton Manor are known for their classic structure and temperament. We have produced numerous AKC Champions. We can now add to our successes, a second European Champion who has won 6 national titles in Europe, as well as an International title. Also, numerous International weight pulling titles have been won by Barton Manor Swissys. Another of our dogs is currently training for mountain rescue. These honors point out the strength and versatility of Barton Manor Swissys. By examining the pedigrees of the top winning GSMD's in AKC conformation it will be apparent that many of these Swissys can trace their lines back to Barton Manor.

Jim Barton is a past President, Vice President and Director of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America, Inc. As President he was instrumental in seeking and ultimately gaining full recognition into the American Kennel Club for the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog.

Cheri Barton is also a past director of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America, Inc.and a past director of the American Greater Swiss Breeders Association. Daughter, Jennifer, was the first to introduce competitive weight pulling to the Swissys winning the breeds first ever gold medal. Jennifer was also an evaluator as well as participant in the Harford County division of Pets on Wheels.
